W is for Whisperer - (meditation by Cheryl)

The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;
they go down into the inner parts of the body.
Proverbs 18:8
Whisperers are usually involved in gossiping
about others. If we allow ourselves to
listen to these ‘tidbits’ of information we can become caught up in them and
find it difficult to resist listening to more, or in whispering what we know to
someone else. The words can become a part of us and poison our hearts and our
minds and damage the heart of another! Our words are very powerful and should
be used wisely. The way we speak and the words we use are an indication of the
relationship we have with God. If we want to grow spiritually and also witness
to others we must control our speech. James 3:1-12 tells us that whispering the
wrong words creates dissension and ruins relationships. It plays right into
Satan’s hands! So instead of feasting on these ‘morsels’ let us feast instead
on the Word of God. And if we are tempted to be a whisperer let us instead do
as we read in Matthew 10:27 and take what Christ has whispered to us and shout
it from the rooftops!

Have just been dealing with a situation where gossip was whispered as "prayer concerns". Oh, the pain it causes!
