Proverbs from A to Z - U

U is for Understanding  - (meditation by Dawn)

Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it completely.
Proverbs 28:5

Those who seek the Lord know that God cannot look upon sin, for he is good. They also know that someday, justice will prevail. All knees will bow and judgement will be given.

Those who seek the Lord understand this future. They know that here on earth, justice may not always be carried out, but that someday, justice will be served. They wisely turn away from sin now, seeking God's guidance, and they surrender their lives to him....and someday, they will receive their reward.

But those who do not seek the Lord, do not understand that what they do has eternal consequences.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for all sinners to come to an understanding of who you are. I pray that they turn away from sin and come into a relationship with you through Jesus. May hearts turn toward your love and justice. In Jesus' name, Amen.

  1. Hello Dawn.
It has been my experience that people don't really believe in God and justice until they are either the victims of injustice or their own mortality stares them in the face. As the Lord says, everyone will, sooner or later, acknowledge him as God. Some of us come to this realization sooner than others and in the process become witnesses to God through our repentance and example. You know what I mean?
May the Lord continue to bless you as you witness to his amazing love and forgiveness, Geoff.

    1. I sure hope people find him "sooner" rather than later. Thank you so much for leaving a comment, Geoff.

  2. I enjoy your approach to this A to Z, using Proverbs. "Understanding" is a great choice.
